What and how? When working with groups, it often happens that smaller subgroups need to be formed, e.g. to work on tasks, to get to know each other or to reflect. We have developed FindMe to make this process stimulating and playful. Instead of a simple count of the participants or an arbitrary division by the trainer, the desired groups find each other by finding similarities in the form of identical symbols on the previously distributed picture cards. This is great fun and gets the group moving. FindMe helps to divide groups of up to 36 participants into equal groups of 2 to 18 people. Equal size means that each group has a maximum of one person more than the other groups. The system also works with odd numbers of people. The cards are numbered consecutively and contain a total of 18 different symbols or search terms (e.g. hot drink, fast food, weather) with 153 assigned symbols.

Implementation. Select the cards according to the number of participants, always starting with card number 1. Example: If there are 12 people, select cards 1-12. After each participant has received a card, the group is given the instruction: "Find the same one(s) ...", using the determined symbol or search term. The participants can keep their cards for the entire duration of the workshop. The symbols are selected in such a way that the groups are mixed as well as possible. This means that participants are rarely in similar group constellations.
